I've got a theory as to why some folk might have thunk Toby Fox might have been at least partially inspired by Sammy when he came up with Alphys.
Rocko + Heffer = Sam (or So Sorry)
Rocko + Filbert = Alphys
But that's just a theory...a game theory. Or an art/inspirado theory or whatevs. Of course, it's impossible since Tobes didn't come in contact with Sam-Sam til after he'd already come up with the character concepts (which he did while he was in college and yes, I know it's totally cringe that I know that but I don't care).
